For those who are interested in humanely raised, free range, pastured meat options in our local food-shed, we commend your decision to be conscientious about such a tricky part of our diet and its effect on our planet.
Grace Cannan is a young farmer/weaver from Easton, CT who has come to farming and fiber through her love of wine, good food, and traditional crafts. She has taken on a sampling of our sheep's wool and has woven shawls for our Farm Store.
Finnsheep are a heritage breed of sheep celebrated for fine fleeces, excellent mothering, and hardy dispositions. Here at The Hickories, we blend the wool from our ewes and lambs for richness and warmth.
