Its hard to believe that the final week of summer CSA is here. Thank you all so much for being apart of this community and being apart of our season. We hope you have enjoyed your once a week, break up the routine and come to the farm to enjoy all it has to offer.
Our CSA potluck is going to be this Friday at the farm from 5 to 7. We will have tables to put our shared dishes out on and will have a way for people to heat things up if needed (grill or fire of sorts). We recommend brining a blanket or chairs to sit on if you would like. A casual event so bring the family and spend one of the last nights of summers out at the farm with us!
Final Share pick up
-Turnips, these guys are BIG and very juicy. Still good for eating raw (believe me! I eat them as my special treat mid day) but also would lend itself perfectly for a soup or stir fry. Also greens are good eating too.
-Pac Choy or Kale, to add to your soup or stir fry
-Eggplant or Sweet pepper
-Raddichio head: These heads are perfect for a grilled salad. They look like lettuce but this is a chicory which is a bitter green. It also can be blanched, added to pastas or a number of different things!
-Herb Choices: Parsley, Garlic Chives or chives
- PYO Husk Cherry OR Cherry Tomato
If you don't want the season to end, we have a limited number of autumn shares left. The share runs October to the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Try and not delay as we will be reminding the public later on this week as well if there are still spots open!
We also have our 2nd Bernard's dinner this Sunday with tickets available. If you missed Outstanding in the field and have always wanted to come to a barn dinner this would be a great option. The weather looks perfect and it should be a great night!
