Spring is knocking at the door. We spotted the first blooms of the season, and our seedling house is filling each week with flats. We start over 120 different varieties of vegetables so the pace and diversity of seedlings is dizzying these days. We farmers, just like the seeds we sow each week, must stretch and strengthen quicker and quicker as the days get longer and longer.

As I enter my second season here at The Hickories, I am thrilled to have the continued support of so many of our CSA Members. I look forward to seeing many of your returning faces and watching new member families head out to the field to pick the first fresh strawberries of summer in June. I look forward to being apart of our Community this year and getting to know the new faces.
Barn and fields Closed but just for now…
During this fragile “shoulder season” between winter and spring there is a period of time where we close our walking paths, lawns, and barn yard. This allows us to focus on lambing season and also gives our land time to transition out of winter dormancy. The Barn and barnyard will reopen at the End of April. We will be hosting baby animal tours all through May. More information on dates and purchasing your baby animal tickets will be coming soon.
CSA Shares Still Available

Our Farm Store
Our Farm store remains open all year 10-5, 7 days a week. We have preserves available- Blood Mary, salsa, marinara and chive blossom vinegar, and our new favorite ketchup. Our First Run Seltzer has returned to our Farm Store thanks to our collaboration with Nod Hill Brewery. First Run is non alcoholic sap seltzer: we tap our trees, and bring the sap down to Nod Hill where they carbonate and can it: pure and simple. Together we create a locally sourced and processed seltzer water that has no added sugar but derives just a hint of natural sweetness and healthy minerals from our waking trees.
