Know your farmer 2019

Happy New Year!

It’s The YEAR OF THE PIG, and if there is anything we know, if it involves pigs, it’s going to be good.

The cold weather has officially snuck in, our fields are resting, and the sheep are content to watch it all in the barn. We farmers now take time to plan and rebuild the farm with rested backs and refreshed minds. We have a lot in the works for this coming season, and we look forward sharing all of our new plans with you soon (hint: more Barn Dinners with awesome chefs who love eating fresh food as much as we do; special events and tours, more offerings of educational open discussions around food and farming.)

While a lot is changing we are happy to announce that our CSA is staying. As many of you know our CSA program is the lifeline of our operation. Without you, we would not be farming. Our members make it possible for us to buy seeds and growing supplies for this upcoming season.

TIMING IS CRITICAL: CSA Super Share sales on sale now! Purchase here

We are starting the sales of our CSA with our Super Share only to allow our most devoted customers to help set the tone for the rest of the season. If you are interested in eating seasonal, local, and organic food, interacting with working land, knowing where your food comes from, and who grows it, our Super Share may be the perfect fit.

We will continue our three season CSA shares once the Super Shares CSAers have had “first-dibs” on a chance to join in.

Our CSA members have special access to the first and the best of what we are growing. Weekly on-farm pick-ups offer the opportunity to connect with the changing seasons in fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Pick Your Own crops are for CSA members only, and they allow you and your family to get into the fields and see exactly where the food you’re eating comes from. Knowing the land and the farmer that stand behind the food on your plate provides a peace and comfort that most people, sadly, can’t say they have when it comes to grocery shopping.

All our plans are seasonal and dependent on the weather and other factors, of course. But here is the plan:

Spring Shares (5 weeks April-May)

Summer Shares (16 weeks June-September)

Fall Shares (8 weeks October- Thanksgiving)

Flower Shares, unlike last year, will be divided into months (June-September, choose individual months, or all four).

Our Super Share encompasses all three seasons plus the flowers.

Monthly Flower shares are already available on our website. We will send another newsletter when the individual spring, summer, and fall shares become available in a few weeks.

We look forward to growing for and with you this coming year.

Thank you for your continued support
