Announcing a late edition... but well worth the wait!...
Hollow Leg Bread Company has agree to offer a bread share "Add-On" to our Autumn CSA. The pickups will begin this week for those who purchase it in the next day or so.
Hollow Leg Bread Company is a cottage bakery in Ridgefield, started and run by our dear farmers in training, Mikey Kiselak. It’s the first bakery in the area using 100% flour sourced from the Northeast. All of HLBC’s breads feature freshly stone milled, organic grains, grown in the region, in order to showcase the unique flavor of our region and support local food systems.
Each week for 7 of the remaining weeks in the Autumn CSA share, Hollow Leg will bake for us and distribute the bread to those who have purchased and Add-On share during the pickup time.
Hollow Leg has quite a following in the Farm Store each week, so we asked if Mikey might prepare some fresh from the oven specialty loaves for our CSA. In the grand tradition of Ross' Bread and Idyllwild Bread, we are eager to encourage start-up bakeries and local production - especially something as delicious and rare as this bread.
